Easter Island is best explored by hiring a car and driving around the Island at your own pace.
The roads on Easter Island are unpaved, outside of the main town of Hanga Roa. This shouldn’t be any cause for concern because of the relatively stable pacific ocean climate means the dirt roads are in good condition. Car hire is best arranged through your hostel or hotel. Collect a map from the Park Ranger’s office when you pay the entrance fee and then off you go!
Use my interactive Easter Island driving map to explore the Island’s main sights.
