Glaciers are truly one of Nature’s greatest wonders. Magnificent, gracious and mobile, these mammoth rivers of Ice flow and carve their way through mountains. No better way to appreciate their beauty than on a flight over Glacier Bay.
One of my favourite excursions on the Alaska Cruise is taking flight and viewing these stunning landscapes from a viewpoint high above. This new perspective, from above, is such an amazing experience. Having sailed through Glacier Bay on the previous day of your Alaska Cruise and Inside Passage, the scale and size of these Glaciers just cannot be appreciated from the deck of the ship alone.
The family run Mountain Flying Service, offers a flight-seeing trip over Glacier Bay for visitors during their Alaska Cruise Inside Passage stop-over in the port of Haines. Flying over Glacier Bay in their DHC-2 Beaver aircraft, the large windows provide horizon to horizon views on a clear day, which I w as very lucky to enjoy.
Join me on this stunning flight across a uniquely beautiful landscape! Read more about an Alaska Cruise of the Inside Passage.
